The social work office is a safe place for students to go when they are experiencing social and emotional factors that are impeding in the learning process. We can utilize the space for a calming experience as well as a place to learn skills to help manage those social and emotional factors. My students would benefit from the items I am requesting to use as tools in the social/emotional learning process. When they are experiencing big feelings, a safe, comfortable and inviting place is foundational to their success.
