Teri Hardy

I am nominating Teri Hardy for this award because she is the true definition of someone who is doing “whatever it takes”. She is a bright a cheery face that welcomes parents and visitors into Marlatt Elementary. Teri’s position has many facets; she is a financial secretary, a fabulous substitute finder (at all hours), she tracks payroll, she greets everyone with enthusiasm, she listens to staff and their needs and stories, she is my right hand-ready to help me at any time, and she is sometimes the school nurse. Teri does whatever needs to be done to help Marlatt run smoothly each and every day. There have been many times Teri keeps students entertained in the office while waiting for parents to pick them up. She asks them questions to get to know them and their families. Teri was a constant check-in for one of our students in the past. He would get his work finished in class just to come hang out with her for 10 minutes in the office. The relationships she builds with others are genuine. Teri has a big heart and is that person people count on. Even in the toughest times, Teri is able to keep a smile on her face and help others. Teri is also a mom to three kids (Savannah, Justin, and Aaron) and a wife to her military husband (Joe), who is currently deployed. She is very active with her church and military wife duties, which often have her working evenings after her active days during the school year. Teri is very deserving of this award because of her commitment to everything Marlatt. I am sure that she talks to over 200 people a day for various reasons. No matter, what goes on in a day at Marlatt she comes back the next day ready make someone’s day better. I truly believe that Teri Hardy is deserving of this recognition.
