Dale Niedfeld

Position: Janitor

I would like to nominate Dale Niedfeld for the Alm's Group Impact Award. Dale has served as the janitor at Wamego High School for 5 years and has served in a variety of assistant coaching positions at Wamego High School over the past 15 years. He is currently the Freshman Boys Basketball Coach. Dale models outstanding work ethic by diligently cleaning our school and takes pride in providing a clean environment for our students, teachers and staff to thrive in. While serving as the janitor of our High School, Dale will take time out of his work day to stop and visit with our students. He often sits down with them at lunch and asks how their day is going, offering encouragement and a listening ear. Players who have been coached by Dale often share how he takes the time to really get to know his players. Each year at the year end basketball banquet, Dale will prepare a presentation where he shares the positive attributes of each player he coached that year. His willingness to contribute to our kids' social emotional wellbeing by building meaningful relationships is appreciated by many parents in our community.
