Running a real estate brokerage involves extensive time and attention given to creating the best client experience possible. Buyer and sellers are the heart of The Alms Group, but I don’t often get a chance to talk about another important customer that I work hard to serve, agents.
When my partner Mike and I opened TAG, we wanted to create a brokerage that not only focused on our clients and community, but also created a top-notch experience and support system for our real estate agents. Utilizing experience and knowledge that I had gained from 7 years as a real estate agent working for another brokerage, I committed all of our business practices to supporting agents and making them feel how crucial and appreciated they are in our office. While buyer and seller clients drive sales, real estate agents are a very important customer of mine because they create and connect buyers and sellers.
Treating agents as my customers flips the focus from broker-centric to agent-centric. From our incredible support staff, innovative marketing strategies, philanthropic mission and market-topping commission split, I am able to attract and retain our market’s best agents. One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of three and a half years after opening TAG is that I’ve never lost an agent to another brokerage. This might seem like a small feat, but this is completely unheard of in our industry and here locally in our market. I retain agents because I treat them how I wanted to be treated when I was just an agent starting my career, trying my best to sell real estate to support my family.
